What did you say?

Say what? Have you ever had “foot in mouth disease?” Perhaps you spoke before you thought. Yikes. I’m sure we’ve all said a few comments that we wish we could take back.

Think before you speak. We’ve heard that before too, but imagine the power behind that action.

Imagine yourself saying words of life out loud to others and even yourself! Imagine a day when we would, “Do everything without complaining or murmuring” like the Scripture says. Imagine the power of God’s Words when He carefully created this world and universe with His spoken words.

The Bible says that death and life are in the power of the tongue. Next time you come across someone who just “blew it” and really messed up, offer a little mercy before judgement. There, by the grace of God go you and I.

Did you know that there is a huge connection between our speech and our overall health? Proverbs says, “Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks.” How’s your heart these days?

So, if our mouths aren’t speaking words of encouragement and life, maybe we need to ask the Lord to touch our hearts.

Even David, the Psalmist, proclaimed, “Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in they sight, O Lord.”

For starters today, why not join me in saying this promise out loud, “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength!” (Philippians 4:13) . All things means ALL things. Watch and see what God will do.
